Tips For Installing Insulated Wall Panels

Wall panels are pieces of usually flat materials cut into the shape of rectangle and is the covering that is exposed and visible for walls. These are decorative and functional by providing soundproofing and insulation with durability, replaceable and a uniform appearance. These could reduce construction cost as it provides consistent appearance with paneled surface and not requiring finishing material such as paint.

They could be finished on one side only if their back is against brick or concrete walls or assembled to appropriate frameworks as a substitute instead. That is why insulated wall panels are now a popular choice commercial, industrial and institutional projects. You can build them according to what you specify resulting in labor savings and reduced waste in materials.

Manufacturing of these materials is according to your specifications, advance planning is important for electrical chases. This would avoid costly modifications that consumes time during the installation process and do not horizontally cut panels to prevent structural performance being compromised. Determine if you need equipment while at design phase such as forklift or crane because of their size.

Organize installation by having proper handling, weather protection and storage to make this process more efficient. Store them on a level area and not closer to the ground for three inches, and organize them in sequence of installing them. Separate those for different floors and cover them with a tarp that is breathable and protective for keeping them dry.

Tightly and correctly install them while providing full support and ensuring this with slipping them over a wall plate. And make sure to place them in correct order starting from valleys and corners and goes outward. Seal the void or joints properly once installed with adhesive to maintain their durability and minimize air leakage.

Protect them against water penetration and weather penetration could be used in preventing moisture deterioration like housewrap. Follow the given installation guidelines by the housewraps manufacturer and make sure every penetration is flashed. Windows would still leak water eventually and use flashing under and around the units for directing away from structure the water.

These have insulating properties that are high and air sealing properties which is underestimated by most people and let you buy smaller HVAC. Contractors for HVAC should be worked with and make sure lower levels is considered for air infiltration. Sizing properly is important because the underused systems would not reach the rate for having steady operations that results to shorty cycling.

Important factors for determining proper HVAC sizing include wall construction type, home size with every floor being analyzed and building orientation. Other ones included also are specs of doors and windows like location, fenestration rating, number of units and insulation value. Another inclusion are air infiltration amount and number and type of fireplaces.

Study drawings of installation before setting panels, remove debris before placement from plate area and provide level and square foundations with adequate bracing for support. Store adhesives at warm area for best results during application in cold weather. And provide enough ventilation still for air quality indoor maintenance.
