Technical training is vital, and it is common that this group has little of it and some none at all. This locks the door for employment even after they are released to the society. It is also known that employers would not be willing to train them as it is costly and time-consuming.

Geographical restrictions due to governing laws against the ex-offenders minimize their chances of accessing job opportunities far away from their residential community. Geographical location affects them either positively or negatively. Due to their past, there are legal and practical barriers set against mobility of the ex-offenders such as parole restrictions.

Employment retention is even harder than accessing the job opportunities. The employers tend to set higher standards for these people, and any minimal mistake is met with a fierce reaction such as sacking or demotion. They are more monitored and frequently assessed over their ordinary colleges. They have a minimal door for any mistakes and thus the challenge.

An opportunity to prove that the society denies their worth and capabilities. It is possible they have transformed and improved in their skills and academics through various training sessions but getting the opportunity to exercise it is rare. They are not trusted by many parties and thus the difficulty. This prompts them to go for entrepreneurial business which is also challenging due to limited sources of funds as a result of their former life.
