Charitable organizations invest huge sums of money on water projects to enhance sustainability. Semi-arid and arid regions rely on rainfall and seasonal rivers for supply. Limited supply leads to drought, poor health, sanitation and learning services. Areas with short supply experience numerous problems which interfere with development. Investing in clean water project for small villages is an effective way of eliminating such problems.

Waterborne health disorders are experienced in areas with short supply. Finding a long-term solution to this problem is possible if there is increased supply in villages. Availability of safe sources and proper management improves sanitation and health. Health and sanitation facilities are able to provide quality services which result in better health care.

Learners in affected regions skip classes due to stomach pain, diarrhea, and other health complications. Some learners are forced to spend hours traveling to aquatic sources such as dams, rivers, and lakes. Increased supply of aqua in schools has a positive effect on education. Schools invest more in learning equipment and utilize more time teaching instead of worrying about fixing the scarcity of this commodity. Students have more time to study without worrying about traveling to the river or dealing with diseases.

Washing hands and cleaning utensils are activities overlooked by individuals. The effects experienced by engaging in these activities are great than expected. People are able to reduce health risks by washing hands, utensils and drinking plenty of clean liquid sourced from safe and reliable sources. This helps enhance community health, human development, and growth in communities.

Malnutrition is a common problem in small villages in various regions. This is due to lack of reliable supply of food. Although many people depend on rain to grow food, it is not always sustainable. In most cases, affected areas receive little rainfall leading to low agricultural productivity. As a result, communities suffer from food shortage leading to malnutrition and other health problems. It is easy to increase agricultural produce if water shortage is addressed and long-term solutions implemented.

Young children and women are beneficiaries of projects implemented to enhance the sustainability of aqua sources. Women play significant roles when it comes to supplying their homes with this precious commodity. They travel to aquatic sources for many hours, meaning they spend more time traveling instead of participating in development activities. Availability of reliable and easy to access sources helps eliminate gender gap and create room for income generating opportunities.

These kinds of projects do not only cater for the needs of the existing population but for those of the generations to come. Lack of reliable, convenient and safe supply will have a negative impact on the future populations. Individuals will not have sufficient supply or better services in different institutions.

It is evident, water is a resource required by everyone, plants, and animals. When in short supply, individuals suffer most because there is increased health risks, poor education and health standards affecting growth and development in communities. Reliable, safe and convenient supply leads to better health, education, and sanitation. Beneficiaries of these projects are highly educated, capable of running enterprises, leading organizations or engage in political activities. This improves living standards and better economy.
