There are many criminals who are found guilty of certain charges and have to serve an imprisonment term as ruled. In the past years, there were many reported cases where these people escaped from the custody of officers who were mandated the task of taking them to the lock out areas. This brought about the need to have private prisoner transport systems to boost the government systems that were in place. As a result, a notable improvement has been realized in this sector.

Various measures have been taken to ensure only the right agencies are licensed. The most important feature looked into is the professionalism of agents who are employed. The state advocates for agents with a military background and experience in that field. More training is offered to these security agents to keep the prisoners under control to their new prisons.

The nature of facilities used in moving the convicts is also inspected. Only special vans that have met the required standards are used. The vehicles are well armored to protect external attacks by other gangs. The windows are well armored and the inner section partitioned to keep the driver and other officers safe from the convicts intentions.

Security measures have been taken to ensure the criminals arrive to the destinations safely. Unlike the past, vans that are now licensed to carry these convicts are required to have an armed escort. This ensures close monitoring is maintained until the arrival of the van. The officers escorting the van are required to maintain a close distance with the one carrying the convicts.

Charges involved in hiring these vehicles are quite high. The state is in most cases responsible for making the costs involved in moving the convicts to prisons. Various charges are applied depending on the capacity the vehicle has. Large ones are more costly to hire as compared to the smaller cars that are used for one or two prisoners.

Special designing of interiors is required for safety purposes. Strong seats fitted with seat belts should be present at the time of hiring. Some have been designed in a manner that the prisoner is locked and chained on the legs while at the seat. This aims at keeping the officers safe from assaults by the convicts.

Recent advancements require that any vehicle transporting the prisoners be put under track during the journey. This has been done in effort to protect the officers and the in mates from any threats. Officers on board are required to keep communicating to the service centers at the stations in order to report any incidences that require immediate attention.

The systems are more flexible since they ensure a nationwide service provision. This is where some have airplanes that are used to move the inmates to distance locations in a short time. The presence of large fleets by the companies makes it possible to keep the state secure at all times.
